Description

High-Speed Suction Funnel collects Dental Waterline Waste that is expelled during MINT-A-KLEEN’s Dental Waterline Cleaning Treatment.

Waste and Aerosols are removed by Suction. Base is inserted into the High-Speed Suction.

Holds 4 Waterlines Simultaneously during Purging and Flushing Waterlines.

The MINT-A-KLEEN Assistant®:

  • Protects Dental Staff from Aerosol Contamination and Splatter.
  • Should be Connected during the entire Mint-A-Kleen Waterline Treatment.
  • Serves as a Visual Reminder to the Dental Staff and Dentist that Mint-A-Kleen still remains inside the Dental Unit.

• Do Not Autoclave. Do NOT Use Bleach.

Mint-A-Kleen Assistant® Instructions

Attach to the high-speed suction. This open-ended container holds four waterlines (2 handpiece hoses and 2 air water syringes) in order to air purge four lines at one time.

STEP 1: AIR PURGE: REMOVE DENTAL UNIT WATER FROM DENTAL UNIT WATERLINES & DENTAL WATER BOTTLE.

After the Last Patient Leaves at the End of the Business Day, Turn Dental Unit OFF.
Empty Water from Dental Unit Water Bottle.
Attach this Empty Water Bottle to Dental Unit.
Turn Dental Unit ON to Pressurize Empty Dental Water Bottle.

  1. Insert MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT’s Black Colored End into the High-Speed Suction’s Opening.
  2. Turn High-Speed Suction ON.
  3. Insert Handpiece Hoses & Air/Water Syringe Tips into MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT’s Top Openings.
  4. Turn Foot Control Water Toggle Switch ON.
  5. Activate Foot Control until Water is Completely Expelled from Handpiece Hoses.
  6. Activate Air/Water Syringe’s Water Button until Water is Completely Expelled from Syringes’ Tips.
  7. Air Purge Step is Completed when Water is no longer exiting Syringe Tips & Handpiece Hoses.
  8. Turn High-Speed Suction OFF.
    ***NOTE*** For Dental Units with an “Air Purge” Toggle Switch, Activate AIR PURGE Feature and Purge Water OUT of the Dental Unit until ALL of the Dental Unit Water is Removed.

STEP 2: ADD MINT-A-KLEEN

  1. Turn Dental Unit OFF.
  2. Remove Water Bottle from Dental Unit.
  3. Pour 4 ounces of MINT-A-KLEEN into Dental Unit’s empty Water Bottle.
  4. Attach Dental Water Bottle to Dental Unit.
  5. Turn Dental Unit ON to Pressurize Dental Water Bottle with Mint-A-Kleen.
  6. Turn High-Speed Suction ON.
    ***NOTE*** Handpiece Hoses and Air/Water Syringe Tips should still Remain in MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT’s Top Openings. Confirm that Foot Control Water Toggle Switch is still ON.
  7. Activate Handpiece Hoses & Air/Water Syringes until MINT-A-KLEEN Exits.
  8. Turn High-Speed Suction OFF.
  9. Leave the MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT Connected to High-Speed Suction with Handpiece Hoses & Syringe Tips remaining inside. The Connected MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT Serves as a Visual Reminder to Dental Staff that MINT-A-KLEEN is Inside the Dental Unit Water Bottle and Waterlines.
  10. Turn Dental Unit OFF. Allow MINT-A-KLEEN to Treat Waterlines & Bottle for at Least 12 Hours or Leave MINT-A-KLEEN Inside Waterlines Over the Weekend Before Proceeding to Step 3.

STEP 3:  (REPEAT STEP 1: AIR PURGE DENTAL UNIT WATERLINES)

  1. Turn Dental Unit OFF.
  2. Remove Water Bottle from Dental Unit, Dispose of any Excess MINT-A-KLEEN.
  3. Attach this Empty Water Bottle to Dental Unit.
  4. Turn Dental Unit ON.
  5. Turn High-Speed Suction ON.
  6. Handpiece Hoses & Air/Water Syringe Tips should still Remain in MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT’s Top Openings.
  7. Turn Foot Control Water Toggle Switch ON.
  8. Activate Foot Control until Water is Completely Expelled from Handpiece Hoses.
  9. Activate Air/Water Syringe’s Water Button until Water is Completely Expelled from Syringes’ Tips.
  10. Air Purge Step is Completed when Water is no longer exiting Syringe Tips & Handpiece Hoses.
  11. Turn High-Speed Suction OFF.
  12. Leave the MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT Connected to High-Speed Suction with Handpiece Hoses & Syringe Tips remaining inside.

STEP 4:  FLUSH DENTAL UNIT WATERLINES AND DENTAL WATER BOTTLE WITH WATER

  1. Turn Dental Unit OFF.
  2. Remove Water Bottle from Dental Unit. Rinse Dental Water Bottle with Water.
  3. Fill Water Bottle with Water Source.  Attach Dental Water Bottle to Dental Unit.
  4. Turn Dental Unit ON.
  5. Turn High-Speed Suction ON.
  6. Handpiece Hoses & Air/Water Syringe Tips should still Remain in MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT’s Top Openings.
  7. Confirm that Foot Control Water Toggle Switch is still ON.
  8. Flush Waterlines with Water for 30 Seconds to Remove any excess MINT-A-KLEEN.
  9. Turn High-Speed Suction OFF.
  10. Remove Handpiece Hoses and Air/Water Syringe Tips from MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT.
  11. Remove the MINT-A-KLEEN ASSISTANT when dental unit waterline cleaning procedure is completed.
